Herman Lee Nelson Jr., 67 of Caldwell, Texas, passed away on September 14, 2021.  Herman was born on December 21, 1953, in Hearne, Texas. He attended school in Caldwell from Kindergarten through 12th grade, where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life Ella Nelson. He attended Abilene Christian University, where he played football for the mighty Wildcats! He was a beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He had a true passion for serving others and spreading the gospel of Christ. If you truly knew him, you knew that he loved the Lord, his beloved wife, children and grandchildren endlessly. He is already dearly missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife Ella Nelson of 46 years (Caldwell, TX), son Bryant Nelson and wife VaRina Nelson (Somerville, TX), son Byron Nelson and wife Arecia Nelson (Katy, TX), and daughter Brooke Burns (Huntsville, TX). He has six grandchildren, DeMarion, Byron Jr, Darren, Bailey, Dean and Layla, who will be able to carry Paw-Paw's legacy on for decades to come!

T here will be a viewing at 10:00 am, with funeral services to begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Caldwell First Assembly in Caldwell, TX.

The interment will follow at Shiloh Community Cemetery.
